Terra cruda workshop
edited by Monica Bispo

This workshop

Terra cruda is the italian for 'raw clay', and during this workshop we'll deal with the techniques to build a vase (20 cm in diameter) with this material.
Every attendee will create a manifacture with a minimal shape and without cooking. Then he'll burnish it with agate stone.

Minimalism and simplicity in form: Monica Bispo expresses the complexity of her personal thought through the essentiality of TheBis lines.

Her works are the result of research in the field of agriculture. They are born in the encounter between natural raw materials and "the straw wire revolution", theory by the Japanese biologist and philosopher Masanobi Fukuoka, which leads to reducing the water impact of the agriculture. Bispo combines this technique with the ancient techniques of construction with lime and sand, the result of intense personal research.

It is following the theoretical principles of minimizing human intervention in nature that Bispo gives birth to objects where inspiration comes from the spirit of places and things. In these works nature, history and present materialize into unique pieces, expression of a meditative life.
