Six-panel japanese screen with pine, ducks and birds

Description

An ancient six-panel japanese folding screen depicting a landscape and the passing of cold seasons. On the right some white chrysanthemums (kiku) and a lespedeza (hagi) announce the arrival of autumn. Towards the center we see some mandarine ducks swimming in a pond. The old pine whitened by snow takes us into the heart of winter, and the flowering camellia painted on the last panel on the left marks the approach of spring.
